Tokyo Olympics Women’s Beach Volleyball Predictions

Beach volleyball is one of those sports we watch every four years and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why.

The best teams are out in force in Tokyo and we look at the best pairings to win gold on the beach. The Brazilian team of Agatha Bednarczuk and Duda Santos Lisboa are favoured to win, but the market is open.

There are two USA teams and one Australian pairing capable of causing an upset, so let’s look at the best value bets.

Women’s Beach Volleyball Predictions

Olympics Women’s Beach Volleyball Top Pick – Alix Klineman & April Ross (USA)

April Ross is an experienced beach volleyball superstar for Team USA. She went looking for a new partner and found Alix Klineman, who makes her Olympic debut.

Ross won the silver medal in 2012 with Jennifer Kessy and the bronze medal in 2016 with Kerri Walsh Jennings, so having competed in two Olympic Games gives her an edge.

The 39-year-old Californian is one of the best offensive players in the competition and she has already beaten Agatha Bednarczuk in 2016, so she could repeat the dose.

Alix Klineman is a former indoor player who is a quality defender. She was awarded Best Blocker awards in 2018 and 2019, so she combines well with April Ross.

The duo has won countless tournaments since uniting in 2017 and they won silver at the World Championships in Germany, so that is a good form guide.

$6.50 is a fantastic price for the American pairing and we’re happy to be on board.

Bet: Klineman & Ross @ $6.50

Olympics Women’s Beach Volleyball Next Best – Agatha Bednarczuk & Duda Santos Lisboa (BRA)

The Brazilian duo will be tough to beat and that’s why they’re at the top of the book. Agatha Bednarczuk won the silver medal in 2016, and although she has a new partner, it shouldn’t slow her down.

She is a 38-year-old that won the 2015 World Championships and her experience puts her above many other players.

Duda Santos Lisboa is a much younger player at 22 years old, so they should combine well. She is a two-time U21 World Champion and she is rarely off the podium when she lines up against international competition.

$4.33 for a team including two of the best women’s players in a good price, and although they’re not our top pick to win gold, we wouldn’t be leaving them out of calculations.

We expect their odds to firm throughout the week and they could start the competition at around $3.25.

Bet: Bednarczuk & Lisboa @ $4.33

Olympics Women’s Beach Volleyball Best Value – Taliqua Clancy & Mariafe Del Solar (AUS)

We couldn’t have a bet on women’s beach volleyball and leave out an Australian pairing.

Taliqua Clancy is a 29-year-old that reached the quarterfinals at the 2016 Rio Games and she has been with her current teammate since 2017.

The duo also made the knockout stages of the World Championships, which was excellent given Del Solar injured her knee throughout the tournament.

They were defeated in the semis against the American pairing of Klineman and Ross, but they showed good fight and it bodes well for a medal at Tokyo.

We think they are a chance at winning gold and the $8.50 is worth taking.

Bet: Clancy & Del Solar @ $8.50
