Venue: Circuit of the Americas, Texas, USA.
It’s all eyes on the race for the Driver’s Championship as Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen once again do battle in Texas. Valtteri Bottas upset the applecart somewhat with an impressive win at the Turkish Grand Prix last time out, resigning Verstappen to 2nd and Hamilton to 5th and consequently the Dutchman now has a slender lead in the F1 Driver’s Championship. With just a handful of races left in the calendar and a mere six points between Verstappen and Hamilton in the placings, it promises to be a fascinating fight to the finish. Lewis Hamilton has won this event 6 times during his F1 career and he will be keen to keep the pressure on Verstappen as the end of the season looms large.
Formula 1 US Grand Prix Predictions
F1 US Grand Prix Race Winner
With only 5 races to go in the Formula One season, it is very much now or never for some drivers and teams in the USA here: –
Lewis Hamilton – $2.00
No driver has won the American Grand Prix more times than Lewis Hamilton and he will be hoping a return to familiar surroundings will help him on his quest to be F1 World Champion once more. A catalogue of errors last time out led to Hamilton finishing 5th at the Turkish Grand Prix and he will be hoping to bounce back quickly, especially now that Verstappen has established a small F1 Driver’s Championship lead. At this track however, Hamilton is favourite and could be tough to stop if he gets going.
Max Verstappen – $2.45
Dutchman Max Verstappen has never won the American Grand Prix and how this would be a rather opportune time to do so. Simply due to the speed of both his driving and the Red Bull car, Verstappen looks to be a serious contender here in Texas and should he get over the line first, he could open up a significant gap in his maiden F1 title pursuit. The Dutchman has sustained a complete title charge for the first time his career, and whilst there is sure to be many more title battles to come, how he would love to pick up a win here in Texas and put the pressure back on Hamilton and Mercedes.
Valtteri Bottas – $12.00
Fresh off the back of a superb win at the Turkish Grand Prix last time out, Valtteri Bottas will be keen to end his tenure as a Mercedes driver as positively as possible. He heads to Alfa Romeo next season but will be keen to do his bit for the team, with the Constructors Championship as tight as the battle in the Driver’s Championship. He is also the last winner of this race back in 2019 and the flying Finn looks to be driving with the utmost confidence currently.
Sergio Perez – $21.00
Red Bull have enjoyed one of their most consistent seasons in recent years and that is thanks in part to the efforts of Sergio Perez. The Mexican has added an element of consistency to Red Bull’s performances this season and he finds himself very much in the mix to finish in the top 3 in the Driver’s Championship. He is capable of anything in his speedy Red Bull car, and he could sneak under the radar somewhat in Texas.
F1 US Grand Prix First Driver to Retire
The difficulty of the Circuit of Americas track could put pay to many drivers this weekend:-
Nikita Mazepin – $11.00
Haas have endured a tough season with their relatively young driver line up and Nikita Mazepin hasn’t perhaps adapted to Formula One how many people would have expected. He tends to get caught up in trouble in races, but he will be eager to avoid it here in Texas.
Nicholas Latifi – $14.00
Williams have endured an underwhelming season (George Russell aside) and with the future of the company in serious doubt, Nicholas Latifi looks to have a tough afternoon ahead of him in Texas on Sunday.
F1 US Grand Prix Top Six Finish
2021 has thrown up its fair share of thrills and spills already this season and there will be plenty of racers fancying their chances of cracking the top 6 in America this weekend:-
Lando Norris – $1.50
McLaren have enjoyed a superb season thus far and Lando Norris has been a huge part of that. He will be desperate to end up in the top 5 in the Driver’s Championship come the end of the season and more points here will assist with that.
Charles Leclerc – $1.57
Monégasque racer Charles Leclerc is continuing to lead the charge for Ferrari this term and despite some inconsistent results, he tends to feature in the top 6 in most races. The conditions here in Texas should suit and he could be one to watch.
Carlos Sainz – $1.80
Ferrari look to have found another gem of a driver in Carlos Sainz and he will be looking to put in another superb performance here. The Spaniard has produced some magic moments this term, with consistency proving to be his Achilles Heel and how he’d love to change that here.
F1 US Grand Prix Best Bets
Race Winner: Lewis Hamilton – $2.00
First Driver to Retire: Nikita Mazepin – $11.00
Top Six Finish: Lando Norris – $1.50
