2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions – Picks, Predictions & Odds

We have expert betting tips for the 2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, which features every winner of the 2020 season.

The first PGA Tour tournament of the year features names such as Dustin Johnson, Justin Thomas, Jon Rahm, and Bryson DeChambeau.

It is a star-studded field and we look at the best betting options this week for the Tournament of Champions.

Sentry Tournament of Champions Predictions

2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions Winner – Dustin Johnson @ $7

Betting against Dustin Johnson almost seems impossible given the incredible 2020 season he had.

The 2020 Masters champion was in ridiculous form last year and he knows his way around this course in Hawaii, so we’re happy to back the favourite.

The American is still paying value odds with bookmakers and considering he’s a past winner of this event, we thought that was generous.

He won the Tournament of Champions in 2013 and 2018, with the latter coming by eight strokes over Jon Rahm. The –24 performance was a stellar display of golf and there is no reason why he wouldn’t go close this week.

Johnson won four times on Tour last season, which also included setting a record of –30 in The Northern Trust. He has been able to record a serious number of birdies and limit his mistakes.

He is a fan of playing in the sun and it could pay to take the $7 before the first round, otherwise his odds could be shortened significantly.

2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions Value Bet – Bryson DeChambeau @ $11

Bryson DeChambeau is a game-changing golfer and he also had a 2020 to remember. Not only did his body go through an incredible transition, but he won his first major.

The “Professor” won the Rocket Mortgage Open before taking out the U.S. Open in September by six strokes over Matthew Wolff.

It wasn’t quite as good as his breakout year of 2018 which resulted in four victories, but winning a major tournament always trumps a PGA Tour win.

DeChambeau is looking to get his 2021 off to a winning start and having power is needed at this course. It was always favoured the big hitters, like Bryson and Johnson, so why not back one of the biggest hitters on tour?

Confidence isn’t something he lacks and at double-figure odds of $11, we’re happy to have him on our ticket at Kapalua.

2021 Sentry Tournament of Champions Long Shot – Abraham Ancer @ $41

Value is with Abraham Ancer, who could have a breakout season in 2021. The Mexican is one of the better players on Tour, but he has yet to win.

He owns top-20 finishes in the Masters and PGA Championship, but with only one worldwide win on his belt (2018 Australian Open), he often goes under the radar.

We think Ancer will get the PGA Tour monkey off his back this year and conditions in Hawaii should suit. He plays well at pitch-and-putt style courses, and struggles at The Open Championship-styled courses.

Kapalua is the ideal setting for Ancer and the $41 should be snapped up quickly.

Sentry Tournament of Champions Leader After Round 1 – Xander Schauffele @ $17

Getting off to a fast start is important at the Tournament of Champions, mostly because the field is packed full of recent winners.

It’s also a course that has resulted in low scores, so shooting 64-65 in the first round will be needed to lead this tournament after one round.

Xander Schauffele is a player that can get off to a hot start and that is reflected in the betting. He is currently paying $17 to lead after Round 1, which is shorter than he has been in the past.

He is an extremely consistent golfer that could turn top-10 performances into winning tournaments this season.
