NFL Week 9 Picks
New York Jets vs Indianapolis Colts @ Lucas Oil Stadium
The Colts had a great chance to beat the Tennessee Titans last week but failed to deliver when it counted. The overtime loss sets them back, but they should account for the Jets.
New York scored an upset win last week, but it’s 0-4 on the road. Indianapolis should have the Jets covered with home field advantage.
Betting tip: Indianapolis Colts –10.5
Colts by 17
Cleveland Browns vs Cincinnati Bengals @ Paul Brown Stadium
The Bengals fell to the New York Jets last week, which was an embarrassing loss for a 5-3 team.
They now need to face the Cleveland Browns, who are 4-4 and looking to bounce back after a loss to Pittsburgh.
There won’t be much between them, but the Browns are paying a better price, so we’ll take them to win.
Betting tip: Cleveland Browns
Browns by 7
Denver Broncos vs Dallas Cowboys @ AT&T Stadium
Life without Dak Prescott wasn’t too bad last week for the Cowboys, who got the better of the Vikings.
They should have Prescott back for this game, which will give them a lift. Bookmakers agree as they have the Cowboys as 9.5-point favourites.
Denver is a quality team on its day, but the Cowboys are heading for a big season, and playing at home is ideal.
Betting tip: Dallas Cowboys –9.5
Cowboys by 10
Houston Texans vs Miami Dolphins @ Hard Rock Stadium
Not much is going well for Houston and Miami, but one of them will breakout for a win on Monday.
The Dolphins are 1-7 and 0-3 at home, and the Texans are 0-4 on the road. There isn’t much to get excited over, but the Dolphins should play better at home.
They are the –6.5 favorites, so they can score by a touchdown for punters to cover.
Betting tip: Miami Dolphins –6.5
Dolphins by 7
Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Saints @ Caesars Superdome
Winning is going to be tough for the Saints after losing Jameis Winston for the season. They are 5-2 and 2-1 at home, but playing without him could be problematic.
Atlanta hasn’t been too bad over the last few weeks, but they should have performed better last week. The game was there for the taking against Carolina, so expect better in Week 9.
It should be a close game between the rivals.
Betting tip: Atlanta Falcons +6
Saints by 3
Las Vegas Raiders vs New York Giants @ MetLife Stadium
Drama continues to surround the Raiders, who are now without one of their top wide receivers.
Despite being 5-2, they are in trouble of falling behind and the Giants could take advantage with the help of playing at home.
It’s not easy to bet on the Giants, but the $2.30 is too good to pass up.
Betting tip: New York Giants
Giants by 6
New England Patriots vs Carolina Panthers @ Bank of America Stadium
We like the Patriots in this situation, and they have been well-backed in early betting markets.
New England is 4-4 and a perfect 3-0 on the road, which bodes well against an inconsistent Carolina Panthers unit.
Mac Jones is playing well in his rookie season, so we’re confident he can come up with the goods.
Betting tip: New England Patriots
Patriots by 7
Buffalo Bills vs Jacksonville Jaguars @ TIAA Bank Field
We have no confidence with Jacksonville and supreme confidence with the Bills, so they should cover the spread.
Buffalo is the 14.5-point favorite, and given how well it’s playing, we expect them to easily beat the Jaguars on Monday.
Nothing is going well for Trevor Lawrence in his first year with Jacksonville, and the pain could continue.
Betting tip: Buffalo Bills –14.5
Bills by 17
Minnesota Vikings vs Baltimore Ravens @ M&T Bank Stadium
The Vikings were awful against the Cowboys last week and we think the Ravens will provide them with another loss.
Baltimore hasn’t been overly consistent, but we’d put our money on Lamar Jackson over Kirk Cousins every day of the week.
The Ravens are explosive on their day and the –6 spread might not be big enough.
Betting tip: Baltimore Ravens -6
Ravens by 12
Los Angeles Chargers vs Philadelphia Eagles @ Lincoln Financial Field
The Eagles finally showed something last week, but it came against the Lions. We’re not sure if they’ll be able to repeat it against the Chargers on Monday morning.
Los Angeles has been a little expensive of late, but it’s the better team. Justin Herbert has been playing well and he outranks Jalen Hurts by a big margin.
Take the Chargers at value odds.
Betting tip: Los Angeles Chargers –1.5
Chargers by 10
Green Bay Packers vs Kansas City Chiefs @ GEHA Field
The Packers lost their first game to the New Orleans Saints, but have since rifled off seven straight wins.
Aaron Rodgers is firing on all cylinders and the Kansas City Chiefs struggled to beat New York, so we’re in the visitors’ camp even with Rodgers missing the game with Covid.
His replacement will do enough to keep them in the game.
Betting tip: Green Bay Packers +7.5
Chiefs by 7
Arizona Cardinals vs San Francisco 49ers @ Levi’s Stadium
The Cardinals are 7-1 after suffering their first loss last week, but we think they can get right back on the horse.
They are perfect on the road and we don’t have much faith in the 49ers at the moment. The 49ers are too inconsistent to back with any confidence.
The Cardinals are the road favourites, which is a good sign.
Betting tip: Arizona Cardinals
Cardinals by 7
Tennessee Titans vs Los Angeles Rams @ SoFi Stadium
The Titans defied the bookmakers last week when beating Indianapolis on the road, but losing Derrick Henry is a big blow.
That puts us in favor of the Rams, who have been going about their business. They are 7-1 and paying short odds to win at home, so we think they’ll score easily.
Take the –7.5 as that line could move.
Betting tip: Los Angeles Rams –7.5
Rams by 14
Chicago Bears vs Pittsburgh Steelers @ Heinz Field
Pittsburgh comes off a tough win over Cleveland and we think that form will continue at home.
Chicago has been playing better over the last few weeks, but it should get outmuscled by a much more physical team.
Bookmakers have the spread at 6.5, which favours Steelers’ backers.
Betting tip: Pittsburgh Steelers –6.5
Steelers by 10
