09/24/2021 NCAAF College Football Picks & Predictions

We are loving the college football action and punters get three games to bet on Friday before the big card on Saturday kicks off.

We look the best bets for Middle Tennessee vs Charlotte, Wake Forest vs Virginia and Liberty vs Syracuse.

Friday College Football Picks

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders vs Charlotte 49ers @ Jerry Richardson Stadium

Charlotte started its season on fire after scoring consecutive wins over Duke and Gardner Webb. The win over Duke has been franked with the Blue Devils beating Northwestern on Sunday.

The 49ers then lost to the Georgia State Panthers, but they will be keen to bounce back against a struggling Middle Tennessee.

The Blue Raiders won their opening game against Monmouth 50-15, but were quickly put back in their place with losses to Virginia Tech and UTSA.

We weren’t expecting them to beat Virginia Tech, but we expected a better effort last week. They are also playing their third consecutive road game, so there isn’t much in favour of the Blue Raiders.

Bookmakers have Charlotte as –2.5 favourites, which is a generous line. It should be a close game, but we think the 49ers can win by at least a field goal. Due to the amount of money coming for this option, the line should shift to –3.5, so take the odds available.

Bet: Charlotte 49ers –2.5 @ $1.79

Wake Forest Demons Decons vs Virginia Cavaliers @ Scott Stadium

Wake Forest has made a strong 3-0 start after beating Florida State 35-14 last week. They haven’t faced hard opposition, but the three-game winning streak should give them confidence.

Virginia opened its season with a 43-0 win over William Mary before putting the hurt on Illinios 42-14. However, they were comfortably beaten by North Carolina last week, so they need to bounce back.

North Carolina is a ranked team, so we’re prepared to forgive that loss. Virginia scored 39 points, but allowed 59 points, so the defence will need to be much better against a dangerous Wake Forest unit.

Virginia quarterback Brennan Armstrong owns 11 touchdowns, compared to the six from Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman. The difference could be in the quarterback position, but Wake is more of a running team.

It averages 183.3 yards rushing, which is 62 more than Virginia. However, the Cavaliers average 438 yards passing per game, which is over 200 more than Wake Forest.

Bookmakers have the line at 4.5, which was expected. We think it will be a high scoring affair, but Virginia will come out ahead.

Bet: Virginia Cavaliers –4.5 @ $1.87

Liberty Flames vs Syracuse Orange @ Carrier Dome

Liberty is the $1.39 favourite to remain unbeaten after posting wins over Campbell, Troy and Old Dominion.

It’s not the strongest opposition, but the only close game came when beating Troy 21-13. The other two wins were emphatic, so the confidence is up.

Syracuse defeated Ohio 29-9 in their ppening game before losing 17-7 to Rutgers. It was a tough game, but it bounced back with a 62-24 win over Albany.

Punters could have a hard time measuring the form of both teams, but we see more value with the Orange with home ground advantage.

Bookmakers have +6.5 points available for Syracuse, which is too good to pass up. We think they have a chance to win the game outright, but take the points for some insurance.

Bet: Syracuse Orange +6.5 @ $1.87
