01/05/2021 NCAAB College Basketball Picks & Predictions

The college basketball season continues in the US with three quality games this Tuesday.

On the cards this week includes NC State vs. Clemson, Florida vs. Alabama, and Rutgers vs. Michigan State.

All three games have the makings to be classics and weโ€™re exciting to see the action.

Tuesday College Basketball Picks

NC State Wolfpack vs. Clemson Tigers @ Littlejohn Coliseum

Offence meets defence in a game between two teams that have only two losses between them this season.

The Clemson Tigers are 8-1 on the season after beating Miami by a point last week, which capped off a three-game winning streak following a loss to Virginia Tech.

The Tigers are one of the best defensive teams in the NCAA, with a points-scored average of only 56.2 points. That is tough for any offence is get past, but the NC State Wolfpack could get it done.

NC State is 6-1 and 2-0 in conference play following three-point wins over North Carolina and Boston College. Their only loss was a shock upset by Saint Louis, but they have rebounded well from that outing.

The Wolfpack averages 81 points per game, which is 14 points more than Clemson. Devon Daniels is going for 16.3 points per game and he is getting plenty of help from his teammates.

Clemson is also a team affair and we have liked what we have seen from them this season. They play a unique style of defence, which could give the Wolfpack some troubles.

We are picking Clemson to win in a tight game, but they are used to winning in the clutch.

Bet: Clemson Tigers to win

Florida Gators vs. Alabama Crimson Tide @ Coleman Coliseum

Florida has come out of the gate firing this season and at 5-1, they are looking strong in the Southeastern Conference.

However, also at 2-0 in conference play and 8-3 overall are the Crimson Tide. They lost to Western Kentucky in an upset last month, but rallied back with three consecutive victories.

The most notable of those wins came against Tennessee to start the New Year. It was a comfortable 71-63 effort and it showed what they can do when they put it all together.

Florida is riding a two-game winning streak following their only loss of the season to Florida State. Wins over Vanderbilt and a talented LSU side hold them in good stead this Wednesday.

There isnโ€™t much between these teams on the statistical front. Florida scores more per game, but not by much, and only 0.9 separates them in the defensive department.

On face value the Florida Gators are the more talented team and they have a few NBA prospects. Alabama always plays them though, however, so it should be a close contest.

We are picking the Gators to win and following the early money. There has been solid support for Florida to win this game and they might have a touch too much class.

Bet: Florida Gators to win

Rutgers Scarlet Knights vs. Michigan State Spartans @ Breslin Center

Rutgers has been a surprise team this season and the 14th-ranked side is seeking their eighth win after only narrowly going down to Iowa.

What could have been a statement win was a close loss, but it shouldnโ€™t keep this Rutgers team down for very long. They were good enough to beat Purdue and Illinois before that loss, which bodes well.

Michigan State is 7-3 following their win over Nebraska, but there were some signs of concern prior to that. The Spartans had lost three on the bounce, including losses to Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.

The loss to Minnesota was one of their worst in history but this is a Spartans team that is still learning. They have the ability to win or lose by big margins, which makes for interesting viewing.

Early market support has come for the Spartans, but there should be value with Rutgers. They are the more consistent college basketball team and if Ron Harper Jr gets going, they might not be stopped on offence.

Punters should believe in this Scarlet Knights team and weโ€™re excited to see what head-to-head line bookmakers will release.

Bet: Rutgers Scarlet Knights to win
