NBA Play-In Tournament 2022 Betting Picks

We have betting tips for the NBA Play-In Tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday.

There are four games for punters to bet on, including Nets vs Cavaliers, Clippers vs Timberwolves, Hornets vs Hawks and Spurs vs Pelicans.

NBA Play-In Betting Picks

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Brooklyn Nets @ Barclays Center

Ambitions were high for the Brooklyn Nets to start the season and they didn’t think they’d be playing in the play-in game. However, with injuries to Kevin Durant and Covid-related issues with Kyrie Irving, they’re par for the course.

It’s bad news for the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have the envious task of trying to beat the stacked Nets on their home court.

The Cavaliers are a team that played well enough to secure a top six spot, but even if they lose to the Nets, they would fancy themselves against the lower-ranked winner.

Bookmakers have the Nets at –8.5, which is a fair line. It will take a lot for the Cavaliers to stop Durant and Irving on the offensive end, so we’re taking the Nets to score a comfortable win to kick off the tournament.

Bet: Brooklyn Nets –8.5 @ $1.90

Los Angeles Clippers vs Minnesota Timberwolves @ Target Center

We have liked what the Minnesota Timberwolves have done and they have a better record than the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Timberwolves sit at 46-36 after a strong close to the regular season and we think bookmakers are being generous with their odds.

They are the $1.65 favourites and when Karl Anthony-Towns is scoring more points than Paul George, it puts the Timberwolves in the driver’s seat.

KAT has been on a tear of late and he’s finally living up to expectations, which could be bad news for the visiting Clippers.

We haven’t been impressed with the Clippers, who barely scraped by for a winning record and we don’t have much confidence in their unit.

Bet: Minnesota Timberwolves @ $1.65

Charlotte Hornets vs Atlanta Hawks @ State Farm Arena

Knowing what either of these teams will produce on a daily basis is tough, but we fancy the Atlanta Hawks to come up trumps.

They have said all season that the playoffs are what they’re aiming for, but finishing ninth wasn’t the desired result.

The same goes for the Charlotte Hornets, who can be better than a 43-39 team, but a lack of consistency worried punters throughout the year.

The sportsbook has Trae Young and the Hawks at $1.48 to win and –4.5 on the spread. It’s the line we imagined, and although we think the Hawks win, we’re taking them only on the head-to-head line as it could be a close contest.

Bet: Atlanta Hawks @ $1.48

San Antonio Spurs vs New Orleans Pelicans @ Smoothie King Center

We can’t quite believe the San Antonio Spurs and New Orleans Pelicans made it to this point.

Undeserving of a spot in the playoffs after posting records of 34-48 and 36-46 respectively, they won’t care as long as they get the victory.

The Pelicans acquired C.J. McCollum and it could work the trick in this play-in game. He is averaging 24.3 points per game and his experience could lead this young side.

The Spurs are a tough team to gauge and we haven’t been impressed. Despite having Gregg Popovich as coach, they have been underwhelming and we can’t part with our money.

Take the Pelicans to start strong and never look back.

Bet: New Orleans Pelicans –4.5 @ $1.90
