NBA Betting Picks
New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers @ Wells Fargo Center
The Philadelphia 76ers aren’t showing signs of missing Ben Simmons after posting an 8-2 record.
They have rattled off five consecutive wins, and many of those have also been without Tobias Harris, so it has been a solid effort.
There are more injury concerns for the 76ers with excellent defender Matisse Thybulle on the injury list, but the 76ers are usually a good bet at home.
New York is 6-3 following a win over Milwaukee on the road. The 113-98 win was a tidy effort, and it ended a two-game losing streak to Toronto and Indiana.
The potential is there for the Knicks, especially if they can improve on last season. It will require the likes of Derrick Rose and Julius Randle to play well, but they have one of the deepest rosters in the NBA.
Despite their injury concerns, we’re going with the 76ers. They always find a way to win the tough games, and playing at home is an added bonus.
Joel Embiid is a one-man wrecking crew, so he could be enough to turn the tables in Philadelphia’s favour.
Bet: Philadelphia 76ers
Brooklyn Nets vs Chicago Bulls @ United Center
Two Eastern Conference powerhouses battle on Tuesday as the Chicago Bulls host the Brooklyn Nets.
Chicago had made a good start to the season, but after losing its last two games to Philadelphia, there is cause for concern.
The Bulls lost the first meeting 103-98 on the road before allowing the 76ers to run rampant in the second quarter in the 114-105 loss on Sunday.
There hasn’t been much consistency Lonzo Ball and Zach LaVine, who are two of the most important players on the Bulls roster. DeMar DeRozan has been excellent with 26.8 points per game, but the team isn’t firing on all levels yet.
Brooklyn is 6-3 following four consecutive wins. They looked good when beating Atlanta 117-108, but the earlier loss to Miami highlighted some problems for the NBA Championship favourites.
They have been beating up easier teams, but they’ll get a much stiffer test against Chicago. Our only concern for the Bulls is their poor defence, which could be exploited by the numerous sharp shooters of the Nets.
Playing their third consecutive road game won’t be easy for Brooklyn, but it should establish itself early against the Bulls.
Bet: Brooklyn Nets
Atlanta Hawks vs Golden State Warriors @ Chase Center
We picked Golden State to do well this year and it hasn’t disappointed after a few weeks.
The Warriors are 7-1, and they’re doing it without Klay Thompson. They haven’t faced the best teams in the NBA, but Steph Curry is averaging 25.8 PPG, and he’s only going to improve as the season continues.
A recent 126-85 win over New Orleans highlighted their offensive brilliance, and it could be on display against the Atlanta Hawks, who haven’t been playing well.
It was a concern to hear Trae Young talk about being bored during the regular season, and it’s showing. The Hawks have lost four of their last five games, and although those came against Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Utah and Phoenix, we expected better.
We’re sticking with the Warriors, who play an exciting brand of basketball. Jordan Poole is giving Curry plenty of help on the offensive end, so we think their winning ways can continue.
Bet: Golden State Warriors
