NBA Betting Picks
Toronto Raptors vs Boston Celtics @ TD Garden
The Boston Celtics have yet to win at home from three games, so the TD Garden fans will be growing impatient.
They return home from a solid road trip, which included wins over Orlando and Miami, but ended with a loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
Losing Jaylen Brown for a few weeks with a hamstring injury doesn’t help their cause, as he’s their best two-way player. Boston will need to be more focused to hold out the Raptors, who are looking to bounce back after consecutive defeats.
A one-point loss to Cleveland was followed by a loss to Brooklyn, but both of those came at end. The Raptors are unbeaten in four games on the road, so they have no problems silencing the crowds.
We think the Celtics are the better team, but without Brown in the lineup, we worry about their passion levels. Toronto has looked better to date, and although the Celtics will win at home soon, they might have to wait a little longer.
Bet: Toronto Raptors
Dallas Mavericks vs Chicago Bulls @ United Center
The Bulls scored a quality comeback win over the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday and that holds them in good stead against Dallas.
Chicago had lost consecutive games to the Philadelphia 76ers, and after trailing at halftime against the Nets, it could have snowballed. However, they knuckled down on defence and forced the Nets into bad shots.
The same formula could work against the Mavericks, who are riding a three-game winning streak. They defeated the Spurs, Celtics and Pelicans, and they averaged 108 points per game during that stretch.
Chicago will need to come with a good offensive gameplan, but after putting up 118 points on the Nets, it will be confident.
The Bulls are now 4-2 at home and we think they can build on that. DeMar DeRozan is averaging 26.9 points per game and Zach LaVine hasn’t caught fire yet, so there is plenty more in the tank.
They will need to worry about Luka Doncic, but the Mavericks rely too much on him. His teammates will need to make shots, and we’re not confident they’ll do that.
Bet: Chicago Bulls
Miami Heat vs Los Angeles Lakers @ STAPLES Center
The short-handed Lakers defeated the Charlotte Hornets in overtime on Tuesday and they will be confident of scoring consecutive wins.
It was a much-needed victory after losing to Oklahoma City and Portland. The Lakers haven’t fired on all cylinders, but at 6-5, they’re doing enough to get by.
Miami has looked good at times, but losing heavily to the Denver Nuggets wasn’t good to see. The Heat were outplayed from the opening whistle, and it wasn’t the same team that defeated the Utah Jazz.
The Heat are a team that can get hot at any given moment, and with Russell Westbrook not playing at a high level for the Lakers, that could be exploited.
Miami has a much better outside shooting roster, and if they make a few early three pointers, it could be a long night for the Lakers.
Take the value odds for the visitors.
Bet: Miami Heat
