NBA Betting Picks – Friday May 28th, 2021

We have betting picks and predictions for three NBA playoff games this Friday, including Knicks vs Hawks, Nets vs Celtics and Clippers vs Mavericks.

Punters have enjoyed the playoff action so far, and as the series’ progress, the games become more important.

We have found the best value bets for all three games on Friday.

NBA Betting Picks

New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks @ State Farm Arena

The New York Knicks called on their defence to get the job done in Game 2 and it will be their calling card again.

They weren’t able to limit Trae Young from dropping 30 points, but they were able to keep his supporting case from shooting at a high clip.

Atlanta couldn’t make much from the outside, shooting below 28% from the three. Bogdan Bogdanovic shot 2-13, so he couldn’t have played much worse.

However, Atlanta returns home where they typically play much better. It will be happy with a 1-1 split at Madison Square Garden, and the Hawks now hold the advantage in the best-of-seven series.

Julius Randle still hasn’t found his best scoring form, but the winner of Most Improved Player is overdue a big scoring performance. If Randle finds his groove, the Hawks could be in trouble.

However, we’re going with Atlanta to take a 2-1 series lead. It has too many offensive weapons and it can’t shoot that poorly in consecutive games.

Bet: Atlanta Hawks -4

Brooklyn Nets vs Boston Celtics @ TD Garden

In a series we’re expecting a 4-0 result, it comes as no surprise to see us picking the Nets to win this game.

They have dominated the Celtics in the first two games and it hasn’t been close. The three-headed monster of Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant is too much for the Celtics to overcome.

Even if one of them has a bad game, there is someone else to pick up the slack. That’s the task awaiting the Celtics, who haven’t had much going for them this season.

Boston ended the regular season at 36-36, which is a poor showing. Despite having the likes of Jayson Tatum and Kembla Walker, there is a distinct disharmony with this unit.

Coach Brad Stevens could be on the way out unless the Celtics start showing some heart. They rolled over very easily in Game 2 and turning that performance around requires a complete team effort.

The heart Boston typically shows isn’t there and this Nets team isn’t to be messed with. They have the ability to go all the way and it doesn’t look like the Celtics are going to pose much of a challenge.

Bookmakers have the Nets at 7.5-point favourites, which favors Nets’ backers. It’s a small enough spread for a team packed with offensive firepower to cover.

Bet: Brooklyn Nets –7.5

Los Angeles Clippers vs Dallas Mavericks @ American Airlines Center

We expected the Dallas Mavericks to win the first two games and they didn’t let us down.

Game 2 was a tough performance when a number of players stepped up, including Luka Doncic and Tim Hardaway Jr. They combined nicely and the Clippers are up against the wall again in the playoffs.

Los Angeles to a noted chocker come playoff time and it’s not doing its reputation any good. Losing consecutive games at STAPLES Center isn’t the way to kick off the series, and we’re not sure it’s going to get any better.

Paul George and Kawhi Leonard don’t work well together and that was proved last season. Nothing has changed in 2021 and we think the bookmakers have this game around the wrong way.

We priced Dallas as favourites, so we’re happy to take the value odds. It hasn’t let us down to date and we’re not going to jump off its back now.

Take Dallas to take a 3-0 series lead at home.

Bet: Dallas Mavericks +1.5
