The second half of the season is always exciting to watch and punters get great value with online bookmakers.

NBA Betting Picks

Boston Celtics vs Brooklyn Nets @ Barclays Center

Two high-level teams do battle on Friday as the 19-17 Celtics head to Brooklyn to face the 24-13 Nets.

Brooklyn’s title hopes got boosted on Monday when it was announced Blake Griffin would be joining the team. Griffin hasn’t done much in the NBA over the last few years, but he’s a one-of-a-kind talent.

It strengthens the team for the Nets, which was already stacked with shooters. Griffin, who provides post play, joins the likes of James Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. It’s now the most stacked NBA roster by some margin.

Boston has a task ahead of them, for not only this game, but the rest of the season. Despite having a talented roster, it has managed just 19 wins this season. It’s not good enough for a team featuring Jayson Tatum, Kembla Walker and Jaylen Brown.

However, the Celtics have won their last four games, including wins over the Raptors and Clippers. There is plenty to like about that form and we could start to see more consistency from the Celtics.

We expect punters to be divided on this game, but we give the edge to the Brooklyn Nets. They are the better team this season and with more scoring power added to the roster, they have now a force to be reckoned with.

Bet: Brooklyn Nets to win

New York Knicks vs Milwaukee Bucks @ Fiserv Forum

We expected the New York Knicks to improve throughout the season and they haven’t let us down.

The Knicks are 19-18 and having a winning record after 37 games is an achievement for this franchise. They have won four of their last five games, including victories over Sacramento, Detroit and Indiana.

Adding Derrick Rose to the team helped and Julius Randle is having a career-best season. Randle is scoring an average of 23.2 points, 11.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists. His play has helped the Knicks get to a respectable level.

Milwaukee is 22-14 and although not at the level some expected, it could be saving its run for the playoffs this season.

The Bucks lead the Central standings by five games over Chicago, in what is one of the worst divisions in the NBA. They have no problem being a top-seeded team in the Eastern Conference, but they will be wanting to step on the gas in the second half of the season.

With a 14-5 record at home, Milwaukee is a tough destination for visiting teams. New York doesn’t fare well on the road with an 8-11 record, so they could struggle to produce the goods on Friday.

The Knicks won the first matchup of the season against the Bucks 130-110, but expect the tables to turn this time around.

Bet: Milwaukee Bucks to win

Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Clippers @ STAPLES Center

Steph Curry was a man on a mission at All-Star Sunday, which could spur the Golden State Warriors into action.

The Warriors are 19-18 after losing three consecutive games to the Lakers, Trail Blazers and Suns. A turnaround is needed in the second half of the season, otherwise they could miss the playoffs for a second consecutive year.

Curry has had a good season with 29.7 points per game, but his teammates haven’t stepped up to the mark. The unreliable Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr are simply making up numbers at this stage.

Draymond Green has come up with costly turnovers in the clutch, so the Warriors rely on Curry to produce big scoring efforts.

The Clippers have a more well-rounded team, which is spearheaded by Kawhi Leonard. The two-time NBA champion isn’t having his best season, but he always goes about his business without much fuss.

Los Angeles is 24-14 after losing four of its last five games. It hasn’t been a good stretch for the Clippers, which suffered losses to Memphis, Milwaukee, Boston and Washington.

The season series between Golden State is locked at 1-1, but we expect the Clippers to take the lead on Friday.

Bet: Los Angeles Clippers to win
