Boston Celtics vs Golden State Warriors Game 2 Prediction

We expected the Golden State Warriors to come out humming on Friday and they did. However, they stopped playing basketball in the fourth quarter.

A 40-16 fourth quarter to the Boston Celtics was enough for the visitors to overturn a 17-point deficit and turn it into a 12-point win. It was some turnaround for the Celtics, who got a vital 26 points from Al Horford, who is playing in his first final series.

Not many punters would have backed the Celtics to win if they knew Jayson Tatum would have only 12 points. The All-NBA player went 3-17, but his teammates picked up the slack and it started on the defensive end.

Holding the Warriors to only 16 fourth quarter points was a terrific effort and a similar effort in Game 2 could get the job done again.

We are struggling to think of ways in which the Warriors could turn it around. Steph Curry was hot early and finished with 34 points, but allowing the Celtics to score 120 points is unlike the Warriors of old.

The Celtics are never worried about facing a deficit, which got to the Warriors mentally. It makes them tough to beat for the rest of the series and punters shouldn’t overlook the current head-to-head odds of $2.58.

We expect the Warriors to make adjustments and play for the full 48 minutes but the Celtics are confident and they’re dangerous. They will get a better effort from Tatum and we’re prepared to jump ship and back them to win.

We’re not confident enough in the Warriors to take the $1.51, which is a shorter quote than what they were facing in Game 1. Therefore, take the value with the Celtics and getting +4.5 is a safer option.

The current line is 215.5 points and that’s largely due to the expectations of the Warriors scoring more points. However, we loved the defence of the Celtics and they could shut the Warriors down for the second consecutive game.

We are leaning towards taking the under 215.5, which could shorten over the weekend. Include the option in your same-game multis.

If the $2.58 for the Celtics to win isn’t quite enough value, take the Celtics to lead at halftime and at fulltime. It cashed on Friday and if it cashes again, punters get $3.80. That’s a hefty price for a confident team and we’re prepared to include it on our ticket.

Jayson Tatum will want to get off to a good start, so we’re taking him to be the first bucket scorer. He’s a $6.50 chance to open the scoring and that’s an excellent price in Celtics vs Warriors exotic options.
