Milwaukee Brewers vs Colorado Rockies @ Coors Field
The Colorado Rockies have had a rocky season to say the least. They are at the bottom of the table in the National League West after losing four of their last five games.
They suffered a 6-4 loss to the Brewers in the opening game of the series and we don’t have much faith that they can turn it around on Thursday.
The Brewers, whilst sitting second in the standings behind St Louis, haven’t been playing well. Prior to beating the Rockies, they had lost three of their last four.
This game could come down to the pitching matchup and we give the advantage to the Brewers, who send out Eric Lauer. He has a 10-6 record with a 3.54 ERA, so he has been solid throughout the year.
Kyle Freeland takes the mound for the home side with a 7-9 record, so Lauer is better and that could be the big difference.
Bookmakers have the Brewers at $1.69 and that’s a fair price for a team still in playoff contention. They have more to play for and that’s a big factor.
Bet: Milwaukee Brewers @ $1.69

San Francisco Giants vs Los Angeles Dodgers @ Dodger Stadium
There has been some serious money come for the Los Angeles Dodgers and with good reason, but they might be too short for comfort.
They send out Clayton Kershaw to the mound and he has been good, but he’s not invincible and the Dodgers come off a 7-4 loss to the Giants.
Bookmakers have the Dodgers at $1.35 and that’s a skinny price. The Giants might be out of playoff contention but they have plenty going for them.
They have won four on the bounce and they are 24-19 as a betting underdog, so punters could entertain the $3.21 available or the $2.10 for a +1.5-run head start.
Alex Cobb is a capable pitcher for the Giants and he has more innings under his belt than Kershaw. That can’t be overlooked and we’re predicting an upset.
Bet: San Francisco Giants @ $3.21

Boston Red Sox vs Tampa Bay Rays @ Tropicana Field
The Tampa Bay Rays are desperately trying to chase down the New York Yankees in the American League East and beating the Red Sox on Thursday would go a long way.
The Rays are 75-58 following four wins from their last five games and they’re trending in the right direction. However, the Red Sox haven’t been an easy opponent of late.
The Sox have won four of their last five, with the only loss being a 4-3 defeat to Tampa. They aren’t in playoffs contention, but that doesn’t mean they can’t put up a fight.
They send Nick Pivetta to the mound with a 9-10 record. He could be outdueled by Jeffery Springs, who is having a good year at 7-4 with a 2.62 ERA. We’re unsure if the Red Sox are hitting well enough to score off Springs, so take Tampa to win.
Bet: Tampa Bay Rays
