MLB Betting Picks – Tuesday May 25th, 2021

Major League Baseball continues on Tuesday and we have picks and predictions for three of the best games.

On the cards is Phillies vs Marlins, Blue Jays vs Yankees, and Braves vs Red Sox. We’re confident with all three games and bookmakers have value odds available.

MLB Betting Picks

Philadelphia Phillies vs Miami Marlins @ IoanDepot Park

The Marlins have a losing record but they have won four of their last five games, including back-to-back games against Philadelphia.

They scored a 6-0 win when they last met and they send Sandy Alcantra to the mound, who is 2-3 with an ERA of 3.63. He has made a solid start to the season and the Marlins pitchers have exceeded expectations.

Batting still needs to improve, but they come off a five-run outing against the New York Mets and they’re starting to get warm.

The Phillies are 23-24 after scoring a 6-2 win over Boston. It stopped a four-game losing streak, which was much-needed. They have the talent to be a playoff contender, with the likes of Bryce Harper and Rhys Hoskins, but consistency is a problem.

Philadelphia has an underdog record of 16-6, which bodes well for this contest. However, Miami is playing smart baseball and we’re going with the safer bet.

Bet: Miami Marlins to win

Toronto Blue Jays vs New York Yankees @ Yankee Stadium

It’s always good to watch the American League East rivalry between two teams expecting to rise up the rankings. Toronto and New York are trailing the Tampa Bay Rays, so wins are needed to close the gap.

The Yankees are starting to hit their straps after scoring five consecutive wins. They are now 28-19 after a very slow start, so momentum is with the home team.

Toronto is riding a lengthy losing streak after starting well, so they need to stop the bleeding and beat the Yankees on Wednesday. Having Steven Matz on the mound is a positive and his experience should go a long way.

However, he goes up against Corey Kluber, who is 4-2 with a low ERA of 2.86. Kluber is one of the premier pitchers and he has allowed only four home runs from 50.1 innings pitched.

We’re not surprised to see the Yankees posted as favourites and they should be tough to beat. Toronto is the more desperate team, but they are down on confidence and the Yankees are keen to chase down the Rays.

$1.65 isn’t a bad price given the conditions and we expect New York to come out firing.

Bet: New York Yankees to win

Atlanta Braves vs Boston Red Sox @ Fenway Park

Boston is no longer at the top of the American League East after losing to Philadelphia, but they have been playing well since the season started.

The Red Sox are 29-19 after winning four of their last five games and they send the quality Garrett Richards to the mound. Richards is 4-2 and he’s good enough to handle Charlie Morton, who has been only fair to start.

Morton is a former Pirate and Rays pitcher, who hasn’t lived up to the hype. He is 2-2 with an ERA of 4.60, which includes allowing six home runs and 16 walks.

Atlanta will be hoping he brings his best stuff, but based on how the Braves offence is playing, he might not have to. The Braves have won three in a row against Pittsburgh where the run margin was +30.

Atlanta scored a 20-1 win to kick off the series and followed it up with 6-1 and 7-1 wins. It was an incredible offensive explosion and Boston might be the next team to suffer the same fate.

A close game is expected, but due to Atlanta’s form, we’re going with the favourites.

Bet: Atlanta Braves to win
