EPL Week 9 Predictions

Liverpool vs Everton – Anfield

Liverpool ($1.36)

Everton ($9)

Draw ($5.80)

The Merseyside Derby gets the programme going on match day 9, with Liverpool hosting Everton. The reds are looking a different prospect following an indifferent campaign last year and they will be looking to make Anfield the notorious fortress it has always been. Everton have shown signs of improvement recently under Sean Dyche and they should be full of confidence on arrival here across Stanley Park. This should be an epic Saturday lunchtime kick off, with Liverpool most likely to get the job done.

Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match ($1.36)

Liverpool to win 3-1

Brentford vs Burnley – Gtech Community Stadium

Brentford ($1.80)

Burnley ($5)

Draw ($3.90)

Two sides with just one win apiece do battle in West London, as Brentford take on Burnley. The Bees are enduring their first real rough patch under Thomas Frank and their lack of goal threat, is starting to have a detrimental impact on their results. Burnley meanwhile are a side still tackling the demands and rigours of the Premier League, but they do tend to play without fear. This should be a closer game than the odds suggest but Brentford should be able to utilise home advantage in this one.

Betting tip: Brentford to win the match ($1.80)

Brentford to win 2-1

Manchester City vs Brighton – Etihad Stadium

Manchester City ($1.44)

Brighton ($7)

Draw ($5.50)

Manchester City will be looking to recover from their domestic wobble, as they take on Brighton. City have lost their last 3 games in English football, an absolute rarity under Pep Guardiola and the blues will want to bounce back here. Brighton however, remain one of the most dangerous sides in the country and they will feel they can rattle a few cages in the City camp here. This should be much tighter than the odds suggest, with an entertaining draw potentially on the cards.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($5)

2-2 Draw

Bournemouth vs Wolves – Vitality Stadium

Bournemouth ($2.45)

Wolves ($3)

Draw ($3.55)

Bournemouth will be looking to register their first win of the season, as they take on Wolves and former manager Gary O’Neill. The Cherries have impressed this term without picking up any wins and the pressure is starting to build on the South coast. Wolves meanwhile are in fine fettle, having picked up some superb results lately and they should be full of confidence heading into this one. This could be a day of destiny for Gary O’Neill, and he could rile his players up for a win here.

Betting tip: Wolves to win the match ($3)

Wolves to win 2-1

Newcastle United vs Crystal Palace – St James’s Park

Newcastle United ($1.49)

Crystal Palace ($8)

Draw ($4.50)

Newcastle United will be looking to continue to build on their solid start to the season, as they take on Crystal Palace. The Magpies have impressed in the cup competitions, but 3 league defeats will be troubling Eddie Howe and his staff. Crystal Palace meanwhile are huffing and puffing under Roy Hodgson, but they do tend to enjoy playing away from home against the big boys. This should be an open one, but Newcastle should have a little too much about them at home.

Betting tip: Newcastle United to win the match ($1.49)

Newcastle United to win 2-1

Nottingham Forest vs Luton Town – City Ground

Nottingham Forest ($1.67)

Luton Town ($6)

Draw ($4)

In-form Nottingham Forest take on Luton Town, in what should be a fiery affair at the City Ground. Forest have been in decent nick this season, picking up points against plenty of good sides and they will feel they are well placed to have a real crack at Luton here. The Hatters meanwhile are still adjusting to life in the Premier League and how they would love to spring a serious surprise in this one. Luton won’t roll over here, but Forest are a good side, that should pick up all three points at home.

Betting tip: Nottingham Forest to win the match ($1.67)

Nottingham Forest to win 3-1

Chelsea vs Arsenal – Stamford Bridge

Chelsea ($3.20)

Arsenal ($2.30)

Draw ($3.45)

A London Derby continues the weekend of big fixtures, as Chelsea take on Arsenal. A recent resurgence has seen Chelsea climb the table in recent weeks and Mauricio Pochettino looks to finally have his side firing. This however, is a serious test against an Arsenal side that have to be the favourites to win the Premier League after beating Manchester City last time out. This will be a seriously good one to watch and Chelsea will have chances, but Arsenal should emerge triumphant.

Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match ($2.30)

Arsenal to win 2-1

Sheffield United vs Manchester United – Bramall Lane

Sheffield United ($7.50)

Manchester United ($1.44)

Draw ($5.10)

Sheffield United will be looking to open their Premier League wins account this season, as they take on Manchester United. The Blades have suffered plenty of late heartache this term and need to start showing some resolve quickly if they are to avoid slipping back into the Championship. Manchester United meanwhile are a side in limbo, with occasional wins seemingly masking plenty of problems at the club. This should be a good watch but Manchester United should prevail here.

Betting tip: Manchester United to win the match ($1.44)

Manchester United to win 3-1

Aston Villa vs West Ham United – Villa Park

Aston Villa ($1.97)

West Ham United ($3.90)

Draw ($3.94)

Two sides immersed in European football commitments this season face off, as Aston Villa take on West Ham. The Villains have struggled for consistency this term but have picked up some impressive home wins, something Unai Emery is keen to see his side develop. West Ham meanwhile have also impressed this season and they look to be challenging at the correct end of the table this term. This will be a close one, but Aston Villa are good at home and should come out on top here.

Betting tip: Aston Villa to win the match ($1.97)

Aston Villa to win 2-1

Tottenham vs Fulham – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

Tottenham ($1.52)

Fulham ($6.50)

Draw ($4.90)

Tottenham take on Fulham in what should be an entertaining Monday Night Football encounter. Spurs are sitting pretty at the top of the table, and they will believe that this is the start of something special under Ange Postecoglou. Fulham meanwhile are battling away under Marco Silva, with some reasonable results to show for their efforts and a top-half finish will be their aim this term. This should be a decent game, with Tottenham likely to get the job done in a comfortable fashion.

Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match ($1.52)

Tottenham to win 3-1
