Week 3 of the Premier League has an all too familiar feel to it at the top of the table, as Manchester City lead the pack once more. City and Arsenal are the only two sides to have won both of their opening games this season and they both look well placed this term. The likes of Manchester United and Liverpool are as yet winless this term and need to start putting points on the board, whilst the promoted sides such as Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth all look to have cause for optimism this term.
Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the Premier League:
EPL Week 3 Predictions
—
Tottenham vs Wolves – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
Tottenham ($1.44)
Wolves ($9)
Draw ($5.1)
Tottenham will be looking to build upon their last minute point Chelsea, as they welcome Wolves. Spurs have a real growing sense of optimism surrounding them currently and Antonio Conte looks to be building something in North London. They welcome a Wolves side that are yet to win this term and had to ride their luck at times to pick up a point against Fulham, but they look well placed to make an assault on the top half this term. Wolves won’t roll over here, but Tottenham should win well at home.
Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match ($1.44)
Tottenham to win 3-1
—
Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa – Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace ($2.6)
Aston Villa ($3.1)
Draw ($3.2)
Crystal Palace will be looking to pick up their first win of the season as they welcome Aston Villa. The Eagles picked up an excellent point on the road at Liverpool last time out and they will be looking to build on that here. Villa meanwhile held on for a precious win over Everton last weekend and Steven Gerrard will be looking for his team to go again here. This could be a tight game, with Crystal Palace may well just edge at home.
Betting tip: Crystal Palace to win the match ($2.6)
Crystal Palace to win 2-1
—
Everton vs Nottingham Forest – Goodison Park
Everton ($2)
Nottingham Forest ($4.3)
Draw ($3.6)
Everton are searching for their first points of the season, as they welcome Nottingham Forest to Goodison Park. The Toffees have struggled for the past 12 months, and Frank Lampard is a manager with his work cut out currently. Nottingham Forest meanwhile will be buzzing after their win over West Ham last weekend and although they rode their luck, they are up and running this term. This could be a very open game, which could well go either way, but Everton could just get over the line at home in this one.
Betting tip: Everton to win the match ($1.95)
Everton to win 2-1
—
Fulham vs Brentford – Craven Cottage
Fulham ($2.6)
Brentford ($3)
Draw ($3.5)
A West London Derby is on the agenda as Fulham host newly promoted Brentford. The Cottagers are unbeaten this term, with two decent draws from their opening two games. They looks well equipped for the Premier League this season too under Marco Silva. Brentford meanwhile are a team on the up and their incredible 4-0 win over Manchester United last week epitomised just that. This should be a very entertaining game, with the draw the most likely outcome.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.5)
1-1 Draw
—
Leicester City vs Southampton – King Power Stadium
Leicester City ($1.91)
Southampton ($4.5)
Draw ($4.1)
Two teams looking for their first wins this term do battles as Leicester City welcome Southampton. The Foxes have huffed and puffed in their opening two games and Brendan Rodgers does look to have his work cut out somewhat this term. Southampton meanwhile came back from 2-0 down to earn a point against Leeds but they too will have one eye over their shoulder this term. This is tighter than the odds suggest but Leicester should win at home in this one.
Betting tip: Leicester City to win the match ($1.91)
Leicester City to win 2-1
—
Bournemouth vs Arsenal – Vitality Stadium
Bournemouth ($8.5)
Arsenal ($1.46)
Draw ($4.85)
Newly promoted Bournemouth take on Arsenal in what promises to be an exciting Saturday Night Football. The Cherries were well beaten by Manchester City last weekend but will see this as a more manageable task at home. Arsenal meanwhile possess a perfect record so far this season and look to be a side going places under Mikel Arteta. This should be an attacking, entertaining game, with Arsenal most likely to get the job done.
Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match ($1.46)
Arsenal to win 3-1
—
Leeds United vs Chelsea – Elland Road
Leeds United ($6.2)
Chelsea ($1.6)
Draw ($4.5)
Leeds United take on Chelsea in what should be a hum dinger in Yorkshire. Leeds picked up a good point at Southampton last weekend and are unbeaten so far this season. Chelsea meanwhile, were deprived of a point at the very death against Tottenham last time out and they will be feeling the heat a little, with other teams already getting away from them. The atmosphere at Elland Road should be electric and whilst Leeds will have a real go, Chelsea should ultimately prevail.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match ($1.6)
Chelsea to win 3-1
—
West Ham United vs Brighton – London Olympic Stadium
West Ham United ($2.4)
Brighton ($3.25)
Draw ($3.5)
Two sides that will be pushing at the top end of the table face off in East London as West Ham welcome Brighton. The Hammers are winless this season as yet, but they picked up a good win in the Europa Conference League this week and should have had a boost from that. Brighton meanwhile are unbeaten this term, with 4 points on the board and their performances of late have given real cause for optimism on the South Coast. This should be an excellent game, which could end up level.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.5)
1-1 Draw
—
Newcastle United vs Manchester City – St James’s Park
Newcastle United ($9.5)
Manchester City ($1.4)
Draw ($5.3)
Newcastle United will be hoping to put their unbeaten start to the test as they welcome Manchester City. Toon have 4 points from their opening two games, and they have a steely look to them under Eddie Howe this term. The magnitude of the task facing them is big however, with Manchester City in fine fettle in their opening two games and all of the sides in the division appear to fear the blues currently. This will be loads closer than the odds suggest but City should get over the line here.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match ($1.4)
Manchester City to win 2-1
—
Manchester United vs Liverpool – Old Trafford
Manchester United ($5.8)
Liverpool ($1.65)
Draw ($4.5)
Monday Night Football pits Manchester United against Liverpool, with neither side having picked up a win so far this term. It is desperate at Old Trafford, bottom of the league, with no points on the board and the manner of their defeat to Brentford was humiliating. Liverpool meanwhile haven’t had any luck so far this term in their opening two draws and they will be all too aware of the pressure they are under too. Liverpool respond well to pressure though and they should get their first win of the campaign here.
Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match ($1.65)
Liverpool to win 2-1
