With ten games to play, it promises to be a real battle to the finish in the Premier League this season. Both Manchester City and Liverpool won last time out, to keep both sides still believing they can go all the way and pick up another league title. Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal continue to battle away for a top 4 finish, whilst the likes of Tottenham, Wolves and West Ham can’t be discarded just yet. The likes of Burnley, Watford and Norwich City are still in trouble at the bottom, with Everton and Leeds in danger of being dragged into the mire too.
Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the Premier League:
Premier League Week 29 Picks
—
Brighton vs Liverpool – AMEX Stadium
Brighton ($6.8)
Liverpool ($1.53)
Draw ($4.6)
Liverpool will be able to take a step closer to Manchester City at the top of the tree, as they play first once more in taking on Brighton. The Seagulls have slipped away from their early season form, but they are still a very dangerous side, particularly at home and they will relish this opportunity. Liverpool meanwhile are a side in superb form, with one trophy in the bag already and they are chasing all 4 trophies down this term. This should be a very good game, with Liverpool most likely to pick up a crucial win.
Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match ($1.53)
Liverpool to win 2-1
—
Brentford vs Burnley – Brentford Community Stadium
Brentford ($2.22)
Burnley ($3.3)
Draw ($3.8)
Two sides scrapping away in the bottom half face off as Brentford host Burnley. The Bees have impressed in the Premier League this season and their excellent win at Norwich last time out has strengthened their Premier League status and they will be full of confidence at home here. Burnley meanwhile have really struggled for form this season, but they never know when they are beat under Sean Dyche. The Clarets are so plucky however and they will never give up, making this a real candidate for a draw.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.8)
1-1 Draw
—
Manchester United vs Tottenham – Old Trafford
Manchester United ($2.16)
Tottenham ($3.5)
Draw ($3.6)
Manchester United will be keen to get back on track following their Manchester Derby thumping, as they host Tottenham. United are a side packed with talent, but the results simply aren’t manifesting currently, and they are scrapping away just to finish in the top 4 this term. Tottenham meanwhile have also endured a frustrating campaign but are steadily improving under Antonio Conte, despite some relative inconsistencies. This should be a tight one though and the draw looks the most plausible outcome.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.6)
1-1 Draw
—
Chelsea vs Newcastle United – Stamford Bridge
Chelsea ($1.33)
Newcastle United ($11.5)
Draw ($5.5)
Chelsea will be looking to put all of their off pitch troubles behind them as they take on inform Newcastle United. The blues look to have plenty of issues under Roman Abramovich’s ownership, but they can only control the on pitch stuff, which they did in beating Burnley last weekend. Newcastle United meanwhile have been in superb form under Eddie Howe, and they look to be plotting a survival bid very successfully. This should be a decent home win for Chelsea though, a welcome distraction in a difficult week.
Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match ($1.33)
Chelsea to win 2-0
—
Everton vs Wolves – Goodison Park
Everton ($2.35)
Wolves ($3.5)
Draw ($3.25)
Lowly Everton will be looking to start climbing away from trouble as they take on Wolves. The Toffees were thumped by Tottenham last weekend and are now just one point above the drop zone currently. They welcome a Wolves side that have genuine top 4 aspirations this season and can also realistically be chasing a top 6/7 finish this term too. This should be a really good game, between two good footballing sides and the draw looks to be the most likely outcome.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.5)
1-1 Draw
—
Leeds United vs Norwich City – Elland Road
Leeds United ($1.6)
Norwich City ($6)
Draw ($4.35)
Two sides battling away in the relegation mire face off as Leeds United host Norwich City. The whites are now under the stewardship of Jesse Marsch and they will be looking to plot a route away from trouble sooner rather than later. Norwich City meanwhile are struggling a little under Dean Smith, but all is not lost for the Canaries, who do have plenty of goals in their side. This should be much tighter than the odds suggest but Leeds should just about pick up a much needed win.
Betting tip: Leeds United to win the match ($1.6)
Leeds United to win 2-1
—
Southampton vs Watford – St Mary’s Stadium
Southampton ($1.63)
Watford ($6)
Draw ($4.2)
Southampton are a side in fine fettle and they welcome Watford, who are languishing in the bottom three. For all of Southampton’s superb form of late, they have received many plaudits but their thumping by Aston Villa last time out was particularly chastening. Watford meanwhile have been dropping like a stone, despite some respectable performances in recent weeks. This could be a big ask for the Hornets though and Southampton should pick up three more points here.
Betting tip: Southampton to win the match ($1.63)
Southampton to win 2-0
—
West Ham United vs Aston Villa – London Olympic Stadium
West Ham United ($2.25)
Aston Villa ($3.5)
Draw ($3.4)
Top 6 chasing West Ham United take on in form Aston Villa in what should be a superb game in the capital. The Hammers are a side who have improved exponentially in recent seasons, and they have genuine aspirations of qualifying for Europe again this season. They welcome a side in form in Aston Villa, who have improved under Steven Gerrard and with quality throughout their squad, Villa will believe they can win any game. There is very little to split these two sides on paper and an entertaining draw looks to be on the cards.
Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw ($3.4)
2-2 Draw
—
Arsenal vs Leicester City – Emirates Stadium
Arsenal ($1.53)
Leicester City ($6.5)
Draw ($4.7)
Top 4 chasing Arsenal will be looking to keep their momentum going as they take on Leicester City. The Gunners have been in superb nick under Mikel Arteta in recent weeks and they have a top 4 finish in their own hands with just 10 games to play this season. Leicester meanwhile haven’t been able to hit the heights of previous seasons, but they will be looking to build some confidence before the end of the campaign under Brendan Rodgers. By virtue of having more to play for here, Arsenal should pick up another welcome win here.
Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match ($1.53)
Arsenal to win 3-1
—
Crystal Palace vs Manchester City – Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace ($11)
Manchester City ($1.33)
Draw ($5.75)
Champions Manchester City will be looking to keep their title charge going as they travel to Crystal Palace. The Eagles beat City earlier in the season and have shown real signs of progress under Patrick Vieira this season. They know the magnitude of the test here against City here though, who thumped Manchester United last time out and reached the last 8 of the Champions League this week. Palace will be bang up for this one, but City should just about prevail here.
Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match ($1.33)
Manchester City to win 2-1
