2021-22 EPL Week 13 – Picks, Predictions & Odds

The pressure finally told for Ole Gunnar Solksjaer at Manchester United and the Norwegian was relieved of his duties following an embarrassing 4-1 defeat to Watford last time out. Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester City meanwhile cashed in with impressive wins over Leicester City, Arsenal and Everton respectively. Antonio Conte picked up his first win in charge of Tottenham – over Leeds United, whilst Newcastle are still awaiting their first win of the season under the stewardship of Eddie Howe.

Here are our picks for the next round of fixtures in the Premier League:

EPL Week 13 Picks

Arsenal vs Newcastle United – Emirates Stadium

Arsenal ($1.51)

Newcastle United ($7)

Draw ($5.1)

Having suffered their first defeat in 10 games in all competitions to Liverpool last time out, Arsenal will be looking to bounce back immediately here against winless Newcastle. The Gunners have shown glimpses of real quality so far this season but their 4-0 thumping at Anfield was a stark reminder of the work Mikel Arteta still has to do in North London. Newcastle meanwhile were involved in a 3-3 thriller with Brentford last time out and the arrival of Eddie Howe promises to be an exciting appointment for the Toon faithful. This should be an excellent game, but Arsenal should have too much quality when it matters and should pick up three points.

Betting tip: Arsenal to win the match

Arsenal to win 3-1

Crystal Palace vs Aston Villa – Selhurst Park

Crystal Palace ($2.28)

Aston Villa ($3.45)

Draw ($3.45)

Two sides eying up a top 10 finish this season do battle as Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa travel to Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace. The Eagles have been impressive this season and although their performances haven’t perhaps yielded the points they had hoped for, they look to be a team going places under the Frenchman. Villa meanwhile picked up a much-needed win in Gerrard’s first game in charge and they will be out to prove a point here against Palace. There is very little to split these two sides on paper and a draw looks the most likely outcome.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw

1-1 Draw

Liverpool vs Southampton – Anfield

Liverpool ($1.31)

Southampton ($11)

Draw ($6.25)

Liverpool will be looking to sustain their title challenge as they take on Southampton at Anfield. The reds bounced back from their defeat to West Ham last week with a resounding 4-0 win over Arsenal and they look to be the real deal again this season. Southampton meanwhile have been plucky as ever and have picked up good results against Manchester City and Manchester United already this term. This could be a very tall order at Anfield however and Jurgen Klopp’s men should pick up a comfortable win here.

Betting tip: Liverpool to win the match

Liverpool to win 3-0

Norwich City vs Wolves – Carrow Road

Norwich City ($3.55)

Wolves ($2.2)

Draw ($3.5)

Dean Smith’s Norwich City will be looking to build on back to back wins as they host Wolves. The Canaries have beaten Brentford and Southampton in their last two games and with Smith’s arrival, the mood around the East Anglian club appears to be improving. Wolves meanwhile are riding the crest of a wave under Bruno Lage and their 1-0 win over West Ham United last weekend was testament to that. This should be a good game, between two well organised sides but Wolves are in good nick, and they should pick up all three points here.

Betting tip: Wolves to win the match

Wolves to win 2-1

Brighton vs Leeds United – AMEX Stadium

Brighton ($2.1)

Leeds ($3.85)

Draw ($3.5)

Brighton take on Leeds in what promises to be a hugely entertaining encounter on the South Coast. Graham Potter’s side have started the season brightly but their 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa last time out was a stark reminder of just how hard it is to win in the Premier League. Leeds meanwhile just can’t seem to buy a win under Marcelo Bielsa and the success story of last season is now feeling a distant memory. This should be a very good game at the AMEX Stadium and whilst Leeds will give it a good go, Brighton could pick up a precious win here.

Betting tip: Brighton to win the match

Brighton to win 2-1

Brentford vs Everton – Brentford Community Stadium

Brentford ($2.38)

Everton ($3.55)

Draw ($3.3)

Two sides in desperate need of a win face off as Brentford take on Everton. The Bees looked to be enjoying Premier League life before a recent dip in form has them operating with one eye over their shoulder currently. Everton meanwhile were well beaten by Manchester City last time out and with a whole host of injuries, they are a squad in need of some confidence if they are to achieve their goals this term. This should be an excellent game in West London and the draw looks to be the most likely result.

Betting tip: The match to finish as a draw

1-1 Draw

Burnley vs Tottenham Hotspur – Turf Moor

Burnley ($3.75)

Tottenham ($2.08)

Draw ($3.6)

Burnley entertain Tottenham in what should be a real contrast of styles at Turf Moor. The Clarets are coming good in winter, as they often do under Sean Dyche and they look to be well equipped to deal with any potential relegation scrap that could be coming their way this term. Tottenham meanwhile picked up their first Premier League win under Antonio Conte against Leeds last weekend and they will be eager to kick on and push for a top 6 finish this term. This should be a very good game, with Spurs surely having enough quality to prevail here.

Betting tip: Tottenham to win the match

Tottenham to win 2-1

Manchester City vs West Ham United – Etihad Stadium

Manchester City ($1.33)

West Ham United ($10.5)

Draw ($6)

Champions Manchester City will be hoping to continue their excellent run of form against high flying West Ham. City had way too much for Everton last time out and will be relishing taking on PSG in the Champions League this week, with top spot in Group A very much on the line. They welcome West Ham who suffered a minor blip at Wolves last week but have been one of the stories of the season. David Moyes’s men will be well up for this one, but City are so adept at getting the job done and they should edge past the Hammers here.

Betting tip: Manchester City to win the match

Manchester City to win 2-1

Leicester City vs Watford – King Power Stadium

Leicester City ($1.67)

Watford ($5.5)

Draw ($4.2)

Struggling Leicester City will be looking to get their season back on track as they welcome former manager Claudio Ranieri and his Watford side. The Foxes have struggled at both ends of the pitch so far this season and their latest thumping by Chelsea was a real chastening experience last weekend. They welcome a Watford side that thumped Manchester United 4-1 last Saturday and look to have some momentum gathering in their survival bid. This should be a very good game in the East Midlands, with Leicester most likely to prevail.

Betting tip: Leicester City to win the match

Leicester City to win 2-1

Chelsea vs Manchester United – Stamford Bridge

Chelsea ($1.63)

Manchester United ($6)

Draw ($4.5)

Michael Carrick’s Premier League reign in charge of Manchester United gets underway with a tricky looking trip to table-topping Chelsea. The hosts have been in imperious form of late, thumping Leicester City and Juventus and they look to be building some serious momentum in their attempt to pick up trophies this term. They host a United side that were abysmal in defeat to Watford last weekend, a result that saw Ole Gunnar Solskjaer get the sack and they need to start improving quickly. New managers always add a strange narrative to big games, but Chelsea should be way too good for Manchester United here.

Betting tip: Chelsea to win the match

Chelsea to win 2-0
